Who wants to try something new, something different. She wants to wear shoes that are not worn by everyone else. And she is willing to pay a little extra for that. As long as they are high-quality shoes. And do not forget about the fit. When you own a gorgeous pair of shoes, you want to show them off. Very often and as long as possible. This woman wants attention and love. A personal approach. Like she is walking into a boutique. A present. Time and time again. This is how it should be, this is how we do it. Owners of Uppark are Sanne Noorman and Willem Prins, two young entrepreneurs with a passion for shoes. They both have a ‘‘Bachelor in Fashion Business’’, obtained at TMO, Fashion Business School. Sanne and Willem have also gained work experience in various shoe stores. For Uppark, they consciously chose for an online shop focusing on women’s shoes in the middle and high-end segment. Sanne: ‘‘Everyone is busy these days. When you have a fulltime job and kids, you don’t always have time for yourself. That is why these days, a lot of women choose convenience and often shop online. As do I. You are not tied to opening hours and you can order that one dress sitting at your computer at 9 o’clock in the evening. If you don’t like it, you can return it free of charge’’.

However, Sanne couldn’t find ‘her’ online shoe store anywhere. ‘‘I like Danish brands and Dutch design. Shoes that can’t be found on every street corner. I noticed that I couldn’t find these brands on the internet. Furthermore, I thought many of the existing online shops were too full and unclear. Our goal is to create a clear online shop with beautiful, high-quality products. The customer has to feel like walking into a boutique.’’

Willem emphasizes that at Uppark service and personal contact come first. ‘‘When a customer calls Uppark, Sanne or I will answer the phone. This creates a personal and informal atmosphere. Moreover, I think it is important to give the right care advice to customers. That is why we also offer shoe care products. When you look after a leather shoe the right way, the longer it will look beautiful. And isn’t that what every woman wants?’’
